Loofah Soilless Culture
Now soilless culture is a popular cultivation method, because it has the characteristics of water saving, fertilizer saving, labor saving, high yield and quality. Now we will introduce the soilless culture technology of luffa.

The soilless culture of luffa can be carried out by hydroponics and substrate cultivation. Substrate culture is easier to manage than hydroponics.
Our Tenlead Plant Growing Cube is a growing medium made from phenolic foam. It provides a high quality, sterile and inert root growing environment. Hydroponic growing cube provides from 90%-98% air space in between its fibers while still giving excellent support for the plant.
The hydroponic growth cube is sterile and inorganic. Because it does not contain any organic matter, it helps to protect the root zone from harmful microorganisms.
What most important is that it is biodegradable and will completely degrade after a period of time without polluting the environment. Conversely, some products that cannot be decomposed, such as rock wool, will take you a lot of time and cost to handle after planting. We firmly believe that it will be more valuable and expand its market in the future nursery garden work.

1. Seedlings
The seedlings are raised in nutrient bowl. Soak the seeds in warm water for 4h, then disinfect them for 2-3h, wash them with clean water, and accelerate the germination under the constant temperature of 25-30 ℃. When 80% of the buds grow to 0.3-0.5cm, sow them into a nutrient bowl filled with the substrate, and then covered with a layer of film to keep warm and moisturizing.
2.Temperature management
The temperature shall be kept at 30-32 ℃ in the daytime and 18-20 ℃ at night 3-4 days after sowing. Remove the film in time after the seedlings emerge, and reduce the temperature appropriately after all the seedlings grow, keep it at about 25 °C during the day and 15~18 °C at night. After about 30 days, the seedlings can be transplanted when they have 3~4 leaves.

3.Water management
The moisture of the substrate should reach 60%~70% of the maximum water content of the soil.
4.Light management
Through the small arch shading, the daily sunshine time can be controlled at 8~9h.
5.Preserve flowers and fruits
Loofah has no monosexual fruiting ability. Therefore, in the shed, we need to carry out artificial pollination, which can be carried out when there is no dew at 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning. Remove the male flowers that have just opened, remove the petals, and gently smear the female stigma with anthers.
7.Harvesting
It takes only 10-12 days from the opening of the female flower to harvest. When the handle is smooth and slightly discolored, the fuzziness on the loofah surface is reduced, and the peel is soft when touched by hand, the towel gourd can be picked and eaten.
