Spring Maintenance Of Orchids

Spring Maintenance of Orchids

When the weather warms, it is just when the new shoots expand and come out of the soil. At this time, due to the rapid evaporation of water in the pot, the grower should water it in time. If you plant orchids with granular planting materials, it can be a little wet. If large granular planting materials are used, water them at noon, so that the pot becomes wet at night, which is conducive to the growth. If the water is managed well, new seedlings can be seen growing high almost every day.

In spring, when orchids sprout, the correct application of fertilizer is also very important, so we should not rush for success. Too many times of fertilization, too much fertilizer water, often make orchids harmed. Orchid mud, pond mud, charcoal soil themselves has rich fertilizer, if they are used as planting material, there is no need for more top dressing in a year, it can be done once every half to one month. Chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer are very effective, and it is better to use a small amount.

In addition, fertilization depends on the growth of orchids themselves. Nitrogen fertilizer should be applied frequently during the strong seedling stage, which can be once every three or five days. After the orchid is strong enough, the number of times should be appropriately reduced, which can be once every half a month or once a week. However, grass, rootless grass, leafless bulb and so on can not be topdressing, otherwise, the plant will be harmed.
