Foam Sales rigid Phenolic foam has high thermal resistance properties, making it ideal for use in building insulation. Uses include cores in structural panels for cool rooms and cold stores, for insulation of piping and tanks in industrial and HVAC DUCT SYSTEM. Able to withstand temperatures of up to 150°C, Phenolic foam is a relatively fire-safe choice for building structures when incorporated into the structure and protected from direct exposure.
Phenolic foam is also used widely used for marine buoyancy, as it is comparatively light (40-60kg/m3) and is easily coated with fibreglass resins. Heat generated from curing fibreglass does not affect Phenolic foam, thus enabling fibreglass lamination. Rigid Phenolic foam is also used extensively for moulds in the marine trades, and by sculptors and artisans, as it can be easily routed, carved and sanded.
